About Tarr: Tarr is the fifth most senior shareholder in the firm Blanco Tackabery Combs & Matamoros, as well as chair of the firm's Associates Committee and a member of the firm's Executive Committee. He is board certified in business bankruptcy law by the American Board of Certification, and the North Carolina State Bar as a specialist certifies him in business bankruptcy law. He joined Blanco Tackabery upon graduation from Campbell University Law School in 1983, after serving as the administrator of a 120-bed health care facility throughout the 1970's. He was appointed to the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Nursing Home Administrators from 1992-1994. Tarr has spoken at numerous seminars for attorneys, trade associations, creditors, and others. He is very active with the North Carolina Bar Association, currently serving as chair of the Bankruptcy Section. Tarr has also served as vice chair of the Section, treasurer and middle district delegate. He is also a member of the American (Section of Business Law), Forsyth and Yadkin County Bar Associations. He is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and on the Board of Directors of the Triad Chapter of the Risk Management Association. He has also been named to the “Legal Elite” by Business North Carolina magazine.
