Campbell Law School

Tuneen E. Chisolm

Tuneen Chisolm joined the Campbell Law faculty with the start of the fall 2013 semester. She teaches courses in Trademark & Unfair Competition, Remedies, Entertainment Law, Intellectual Property and Family Law.  Her research interests revolve around the intersection of morality, equity and intellectual property rights, particularly as it relates to entertainment and sports, and the impact of patent law on patient rights and consumer access to healthcare.

Prior to Campbell Law, Chisolm served as the Westerfield Fellow on the faculty at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, where she taught a seminar entitled Morality of Intellectual Property, as well as legal research and writing.

Before embarking on her legal career, Chisolm served as a research and development engineer for Fortune 100 Companies in the biotechnology and specialty chemical industries. Upon graduation from law school she clerked for the Honorable Consuelo B. Marshall in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. Following her clerkship, Chisolm practiced for more than 10 years as an entertainment and intellectual property litigator, primarily working from the Los Angeles office of Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld LLP before starting her own practice in 2009 as a private general counsel, mediator, and arbitrator.  Chisolm is a member of the National Roster of Arbitrators for the American Arbitration Association and she is a lifetime member of the Black Entertainment and Sports Lawyers Association.

Chisolm has devoted a significant portion of her time to performing pro bono work throughout her legal career. Examples of her pro bono service include acting as guardian ad litem for minor plaintiffs, assisting domestic violence victims with obtaining restraining orders, facilitating adoptions for foster parents and relative caregivers, and mediating cases as part of the Los Angeles County Superior Court pro bono mediator panel.

Chisolm holds a Sc.B. in engineering with a biomedical concentration from Brown University, and a M.S. in chemical engineering from Lehigh University. She earned her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School where she was associate editor and senior editor of the law review.
