FAQ


Q:         Where do I purchase my cap and gown?

A:         The law school purchases caps, gowns, and hoods for all students. Once the caps and gowns arrive, students will pick them up from Career Services. You will receive your hoods at graduation. Additionally, the Student Bar Association encourages all students to purchase a tam to wear in lieu of the cap. Tams are available for purchase at the bookstore.

 

Q:         How many individuals may I invite to the Graduation ceremony?

A:         You may invite as many individuals as you would like to the Graduation ceremony at the Raleigh Convention Center.    An RSVP link will be available closer to date, so that we can set-up for the appropriate number of guests.

 

Q:         Is there parking available for the Graduation ceremony?

A:         There are several pay parking lots and spaces within walking distance to the Raleigh Convention Center.   Directions and Parking Information can be found at:http://www.raleighconvention.com/directionsPlease note that parking is $7.00.   The R-line route includes the Convention Center, so you may always park at the school and take the bus on the corner of Dawson and Morgan Streets.    As a graduate, you will be required to arrive at the Convention Center by 9:00am.

 

Q:         What is the law student attire for the Graduation ceremony?

A:         This is a professional ceremony. Each student will be provided a cap and a gown. Men should wear dark slacks and dark shoes under their gowns. Women should wear dark slacks or skirts under their gowns, as well as, dark shoes.

 

Q:         What is the attire for my guests for the Graduation ceremony?

A:         As mentioned, this is a professional ceremony, so it is advised that guests should wear business or church attire.

 

Q:         Will there be a reception after the Graduation ceremony?

A:         No, the Student Bar Association will host a reception the evening before graduation at the Cardinal Club (150 Fayetteville Street, Suite 2800, Raleigh) from 5pm-7pm.  For more information, please contact SBA Graduation Chair, Daniel Moose.    Students generally prefer to dine on their own after the ceremony. Q:         How do I purchase graduation announcements?

A:         You may order graduation announcements from Balfour online at http://products.balfour.com/College/CollegeHome.aspx?CollegeId=NC24284or by calling 1-877-225-3687.  Both credit cards and checks are accepted.

 

Q:         Do we have any negotiated rates with local hotels?

A:         Hotel rates are subject to change as the date nears; however, the Sheraton has reserved a courtesy block for $119.00 per night, which includes parking. https://www.starwoodmeeting.com/StarGroupsWeb/booking/reservation?id=1302040989&key=9B3C2

Additionally, the Marriott has offered a rate of $109.00 per night, but parking is not included.    Please reference Campbell Law School when making your reservation.
