Lisa Vaughn earned her J.D., cum laude, from Campbell Law School in 1987. In 2011, she joined Winston & Strawn as a Partner in the firm’s energy group who concentrates her practice in nuclear regulatory and commercial matters.

Ms. Vaughn has substantial experience in nuclear fuel cycle contracts and policy; development and support of employee concerns programs; internal investigations, NRC and other agency investigations involving alleged wrongdoing or discrimination, and nuclear licensing and compliance.

Prior to joining Winston & Strawn, Ms. Vaughn served as special advisor to the chairman, president, and chief executive officer at one of the United States’ leading electric power companies. During her time there, she was also associate general counsel and managing attorney, where she led and managed the legal team for the company’s nuclear generation department.

Ms. Vaughn is involved in a number of professional associations. She is a member of the Nuclear Energy Institute’s Lawyer’s Committee Steering Committee, Integrated Used Fuel Working Group, the American Bar Association, the Mecklenburg County Bar Association, and the North Carolina Bar Association. Prior to joining Winston, she served as vice chair of the Nuclear Electric Insurance Limited’s (NEIL) Legal Advisory Committee, chair of the Ad Hoc Utilities Group, and secretary for the nuclear oversight Committee of the Board of Directors of one of the United States’ leading electric power companies.
