Ben Thompson is a double graduate of Campbell University. He earned his B.A., cum laude, in 1976 and his J.D. in 1979. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Campbell University Board of Trustees.

His practice at Wyrick Robbins Yates & Ponton focuses on complex litigation, government contracting law, labor law, and trade regulation. He has extensive trial experience in both state and federal courts throughout the U.S. He joined the firm as a partner in 1997 after 18 years of litigation practice in another North Carolina firm where he represented a number of large and medium-size government contracting, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, and technology companies. Mr. Thompson is Chairman of Wyrick Robbins Yates & Ponton’s Litigation Section.

Mr. Thompson  is involved with numerous organizations, including the American Bar Association, N.C. Bar Association, Wake County Bar Association, National Contract Management Association, and N.C. Advocates for Justice, among others. He has also been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America, North Carolina Super Lawyers, Business North Carolina Magazine Legal Elite, Chambers USA, as well as Benchmark Litigation.
