To find out if your employer matches charitable donations or to obtain the appropriate forms, contact your human resources department.

Gifts of securities

Gifts of appreciated securities (stocks, bonds, mutual fund shares) that have been held for more than one year have some tax advantages for donors. In most instances, you can take a tax deduction for the full market value of the gift on the date it was made while avoiding any capital gains tax.

Planned gifts and bequests

Naming Campbell Law School in your estate plans or as the beneficiary of a life insurance policy is a way of ensuring that your generous support for the Law School continues long after your lifetime.

In addition to bequests, several planned giving vehicles enable you to generously provide for Campbell Law School while also accomplishing important personal and financial goals for yourself and your family.

Planned giving options such as charitable remainder trusts, charitable annuities and pooled income funds provide deferred funds for Campbell Law School’s long-term needs, while also offering income and tax advantages to the donor during his or her lifetime. In a typical planned gift, donors transfer assets to Campbell Law School (in the form of cash, securities, real estate or other assets). They and/or their beneficiaries receive income payments for life or a period of years as well as charitable income and other tax benefits.

When you establish a planned gift to benefit Campbell Law School, you are immediately eligible for membership in The Wiggins Society, Campbell University’s first planned giving membership organization.

This organization was christened The Wiggins Society in honor of Dr. Norman A. Wiggins and commemorating his first publication in 1964 of the definitive work for lawyers entitled Wills and Administration of Estates in North Carolina, as well as his continuing service as President of this great institution of Christian higher education for over thirty-five years.

Members of The Wiggins Society not only enjoy the distinction of counting themselves among the truest patrons and supporters of Campbell, but also receive a beautifully framed Certificate of Membership and have their names permanently recorded on the Donor Board of The Wiggins Society.

For more information about bequests and planned giving vehicles, please contact please contact Britt Davis in the Law School Development office at davis@law.campbell.edu or 919-865-5977.
